To make this diy ribbon necklace, you are going to need a wire thread, a ¾” midori woven metallic ribbon, needle, clasp, chain (optional) and jump rings. Select a flat surface to start with making this necklace. You will find all these material at any craft store. Start with threading the needle with a piece of wire. Select the length of the wire as you wish to keep it for your necklace. Having a bit extra will let your alter it at the end. Leave a little loop at the top by wrapping the excess end around the wire. Now tie the other end of the wire to a jump ring and then start folding your ribbon. Fold it in accordion style onto the needle and try to start with smaller folds.

You can make the folds larger when you move to the middle so that it will have a design or varying folds of ribbons. Make the folds smaller again towards the end of the other end. You can use both spools of ribbon and add a third one if you want to make a longer necklace. To avoid the folds to lie flat, you can give the necklace more volume by twisting the folds around the wire. Add the jump rings onto the wire look at the end followed by adding the clasp. You can use jewelry pliers to add the clasp. Adding a piece of chain to the jump ring will also enable you to increase the length of the necklace. And your diy ribbon necklace is ready to wear!
